- Angels and Fairies – There is no Such Thing? a more expanded view of p. 32 in Little Star.
In line with the general evolutionary tendencies of our times, our civilization has developed its rational mind to the exclusion of other ways of thinking, perceiving and understanding. This trend has certainly created many brilliant discoveries, but sometimes also useless and even harmful ones. It also means we have lots sight of our wholeness and our knowledge that we are multi-dimensional beings living in a multi-dimensional world. If we have no guidance system for our lives other than the current media and entertainment on our phones! and our rational left-brained focussed education, we are indeed a sorry and sad lopsided species. Our children are no longer exposed to a helpful spiritual knowledge, nor are we.
Our children come to us from the multidimensional world. In other words, while their bodies are given by their parents, their essence comes from another unknown plane. Rudolf Steiner, a profound visionary and scientist, (1861 – 1925) who founded the Waldorf School movement among many other fields of new understanding, offers important insights into how we can educate our children to support their natural stages of development. He saw that a child’s growth in consciousness parallels that of humanity’s, working through the large sweeps of time that we have already moved through. From birth until the loosening of the baby teeth, the child’s consciousness and understanding roughly reflects the Neolithic era – a pre-literate time. The evidence of this is in a child’s first drawings. They represent themselves and the material world around them as floating freely in space (reminiscent of the cave paintings!) In that consciousness they do not need literacy, or “head” learning, not ABC’s and abstract learning. They need everything in a story, rather than as naked facts. They yearn to connect in a feeling way to the living embodiment of everything around them. The whole visible and invisible planet depends on connection. The child is in a sensitive, pre-literate time when the psyche or soul is drawing into embodied life on earth. The foundational connection to themselves and their coming life and purpose on planet earth is developing behind the scenes and we should rather be emphasizing right-brained learning. A right-brained approach, centering on creativity, imagination, intuition, and thinking holistically and in images (not imposed externally by screens) is what is nourishing at this time. Literacy and linear thinking are appropriately taught when certain harbingers of the child’s next developments are in evidence – the baby teeth loosen and, like magic, ground lines and sky lines appear in their drawings. They have landed and are ready for the objective world. (I do not say we should abandon teaching and learning holistically, though!)
Fairies, and indeed, the associated beings sometimes present in the old fairy tales, are representations of the unseen workers whose job it is to sustain planetary life. Because the movements and activities of the fairies are very joyful and playful, they are more like young children and are particularly dear them. Angels are cosmic representations of workers of the One Life, the One Love, the One Light. They are less associated with personal human life, and more associated with expressions of the One. If anything, they may be supportive of human spiritual growth. Knowing about them, can help children and adults alike, key into a more elevated holistic consciousness.
Because we have been conditioned to function wholly in our rational mind, we may find it difficult to accept that hierarchies of beings exist that are unknown to us, but who are necessary to our lives. The unseen worlds and their activities co-exist alongside and within the material world right here, beyond the normal perception of our human senses and scientific investigation. Millions of workers exist in these dimensions whose sole purpose and interest it is to sustain the beauty and abundance of life on the planet. Very few people today are clairvoyants who can see these beings. But most young children yearn to know them. They are part of the important connection to their own wholeness, and the wholeness of the living world. Sad and diminished is a child who is told, “There is no such thing!”
In earlier times, children would play in the forests and meadows where they would find their own meaning and nourishment without the intervention of adults. Today, many urban parents make an effort to give their children opportunities to be in nature. Parents can support a feeling connection by modelling appreciation and gratitude, perhaps finding a favourite tree and talking to it: “Hello tree, I like you.” Touching and thanking or singing can open the doors. “Thank you for the blueberries,” “Thank you for the shade,” “Thank you for giving the birds a place to nest.” You can introduce yourself and ask permission and then take time to listen, “Hello, I am Fallon. You are so beautiful. May I pick you?” When you model this, you are being an example and inspiration. Your child’s wholeness and their inner light will be helped to unfold as it’s meant to. Thus may we participate in a journey to a new holistic consciousness that can move more humans into a loving life-sustaining direction, that also reveres Life and its Mystery.
We all come from a multi-dimensional reality, but have been conditioned to function in an entirely one-dimensional way. Even Albert Einstein said that the problems of the world cannot be solved by the same consciousness that created them.
2. The Meaning of the Symbolism in the Books
Universal and timeless truths are represented in a symbolic way suitable for a child. Our planet is in a turmoil as we transition to new ways of knowing and being together, not just physically, but more importantly, spiritually.
The Luminescence books are written to nourish a child’s need to form a deeper and reciprocal connection within:
- to their essential selves
- to all that lives around them, seen and unseen
- to the multi-dimensional planet and universe around them
The Sun taking the star children back to the sky world is symbolic of the light lifting us into our joyful spiritual selves.
The Mother-of-Us-All represents the nourishing, life-creating, loving, intelligent, energy present in the universe that has been acknowledged and worshipped in all religions that had a feminine counterpart to a male deity. The last vestige of her in our time is what we think of as Mother Nature. This energy is unimaginably vast and muilti-dimensional and it is responsive to us.
The Spirit Spark in the Heart has been taught in all major religions as a portal to the deeper essence and truth within us – an inner awakening to the Light. This Light can be thought of us what historically has been called God, but has been given many other names. To know that there is a Light within us, that knows where we should be and what we should be doing can be very helpful in guiding us through these turbulent times of planetary awakening.
The Nature Spirits and Angels are among many hierarchies that exist in the unseen multi-dimensional world. They have their own function and purpose in the order of the universe to help the maintenance and evolution of al life. They can be responsive to us, and can sometimes make themselves known to us internally. We do not have to become clairvoyants who see them, this is not important. All we need do is respect their right to life on the beautiful planet we share, and express gratitude for their work.
We are the children of the Universal Light, the Mother-Father Creator God, The One, the Source, and we are all struggling toward this oneness, which when achieved in the spirit, will naturally unfold in the physical. When our spirit selves are given room to bloom within us and are aligned with the direction in which the planet needs to be moving, we will be well on our way to a new world of peace and beauty for all living beings.
