Below is a ‘Gallery’ of illustrations and my conversations with you, the adult reader – just sharing some of what was in my mind and heart while writing and painting the illustrations. This does not imply we always want to discuss the pages, but often conversation arises spontaneously. Please also share your thoughts and experiences!

Now a sequel book is well underway.
What is it about? Many have asked me what happens to the little child that was left behind.
If you count the star children going home with the sun, you will see that one is missing. There is a little bit of a mauve hat disappearing over the hill on the left of the sun page. The sunbeam is reaching down trying to get a hold of that one. But then on the very last page, there is a little star child creeping along the ground, left behind. That is where The Star Children ends, and where the new book begins.
A little lost star child! What will that one do? What happens?
As mentioned on my Facebook page, children in my classes loved this project. For a long time we just made the little star children. But one year I wanted to have a little deeper connection to it, and I made up the story of The Star Children.
